New Years Weekend Giveaway! ~ Ends 1/02/12 at Midnight

Well, I was planning to do this on Sunday as a Six Sentence Sunday type deal with a giveaway of Snowed in with Santa, but there's a chance I'll be too hungover to today it is!  And since it's not Six Sentence Sunday...I can post an excerpt as long as I want.

The following is an excerpt of Snowed in with Santa, a holiday-themed bdsm romance, which was released on 11/18/11.

"A moan escaped Jared’s throat as he beheld the beautiful scene before him. Alana lay on the carpet in front of the electric fireplace, wearing nothing but a pair of black lace panties and a matching pushup bra. Her face was flushed, her eyes beseeching him to touch her.

He stripped down to his grey boxers and brought his body over hers, pressing his bulging erection between her parted thighs. Her eyes fluttered and she shamelessly grinded against him. While he wanted nothing more than to rip her panties off and plunge hilt-deep into her hot center, he wanted this first time to count and set the standard for any future intimacy they shared.

He wanted to bring Alana to previously unknown heights of pleasure while sharing his darker desires with her. For a reason he couldn’t pinpoint, he felt she wouldn’t reject his requests. There was something about Alana that screamed submissive, and he planned to discover how far away from the ordinary she was willing to travel. But if he was to suffer rejection at Alana’s hands, he much preferred it happen now rather than later.

He forced her to meet his gaze by running his hand along the top of her throat, holding her chin firmly in place. “Do you trust me?”

“Yes,” she replied without a moment’s hesitation. “I want this.”

He leaned closer to whisper in her ear. “I like it rough . . . and different. I want to show you how I like it, Alana.”

He felt her melt in his arms and grind harder against his cock. “Yes . . . yes . . . okay,” she breathed, kissing his neck as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

Jared pulled back and met her eyes, which were glazed over with passion. “If you want to stop at any time, Alana, that’s okay. If you’re scared or uncomfortable by something I do, I want you to tell me immediately. Do you understand?”

A light smile played across her kiss-swollen lips. “I understand.”

She might not understand yet, he thought, but she will soon.

Jared lifted her off the floor and she laced her arms tightly around his neck. He carried her upstairs and laid her on his bed. “Stay there,” he said, before disappearing inside his walk-in closet to retrieve the box of toys that had driven his wife away. He’d purchased the items in hopes of spicing up their sex life, but Katrina had been horrified and left him a week later. The rejection still stung deeply, and he’d meant to throw the box of unused toys away, but now he was glad he hadn’t.

Just as he expected, Alana bolted up when she noticed the box in his hands, her eyebrows narrowed in confusion. “What’s that?”

He placed the box next to the bed and sank down beside her, kneading her breasts through her bra. You’ll find out soon enough, my dear.” He nibbled her ear and trailed kisses down her neck, before unhooking her bra and tossing it to the floor. “Ah, beautiful,” he said.

He pinched both of her dark pink nipples until they hardened under his touch before taking one in his mouth. Greedily, he sucked and nipped the nub as she arched towards him, begging for more. As his desire for Alana grew, so did the intensity of his touch – it became rough, almost brutal.

“You were a bad girl today, Alana. Chasing after a thief and driving up a mountain in the midst of a snowstorm,” he scolded, now cupping her chin. God, he loved to gaze into her dark brown eyes, so trusting and heavy with need.

To his astonishment, she replied, “I know. I’ve been a very bad girl. Are you going to… punish me?” "

Six Sentence Sunday 12/25/11

I'm very excited about the upcoming January 6th release of Mountain Devil.  It is an erotic romance novella set in present day Western Maryland.  Not only will I be sharing an excerpt from Mountain Devil for today's Six Sentence Sunday, but I have the cover to show off with it.

Drum roll please...

"Ed Peters wasn’t happy. For three days, escaped convict Chuck Dearing had given him the runaround over the mountains. Dearing’s reward had been increased to $25,000 for information leading to his capture. But a bounty hunter like Ed Peters always brought convicts in himself. There was no satisfaction in collecting a reward not fully earned. Ed planned to earn those five figures fair and square."

Those are the first six sentences in my novella that describe the yummy hero, Ed Peters.  Hope you enjoyed this sneak peak!  Mountain Devil will be available January 6th on Kindle and Nook.

Holiday-Induced Writer's Block, Anyone?

I don't know about everyone else, but I tend to get a case of writer's block around the holiday season each year.  Well, I haven't been writing that long, but it happened last year and the year before that.  There's just so much to do and worry about this time of year that my mind easily wanders - and when my mind wanders, my inspiration runs out the door.  So what's the cure for writer's block?  I don't have a fraking clue, but I do manage to cope and get a little bit of writing done, even if I'm not feeling it flow as naturally as it does during the other eleven months of the year.

So, in case anyone is curious, here's a list of ways I "make" myself write, even when I feel like there's a level 10 force field locked around my brain:

1.  New movies.  I watch a movie I've never seen before.  For some weird reason, this sometimes puts me in the mood to write, even if I'm not sure how to proceed with my story.

2.  Music.  I listen to songs that relate to my characters.  The other day I found myself listening to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers sing Islands in the Stream.  Yeah yeah it's country, I know, but it got me in the right mind set for a particular scene I was struggling to write.

3.  The written word.  I read a book.  Or two.  Enough said.

4.  Red red wine.  I pour myself a generous sized glass of wine.  I think sometimes my mind just needs a little lubrication.  Hey, it really works...for me, at least.  Oftentimes, the ideas and good sentences just start flowing after a glass.  Or two...

5.  Revise.  I go back and look at my outline and what I've already written.  What's driving the story?  Am I loosing interest because it's not exciting enough?

6.  Force it.  If none of the above work or are not available to me at the moment, I just force it.  It's painful, but I at least try to crank out 500 - 1000 words in a sitting even if I'm in the throes of writer's block at the moment.  Sometimes the forced writing sucks, but other times it's not so bad.  I can always go back and edit.

Well, that's it.  How do you deal with writer's block?  Leave a comment, I'd love to know!

That Hot Guy in the Santa Hat...

The hot guy on the cover of Snowed in with Santa is everywhere, it seems.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed this either.  I've seen him on the cover of several ebooks, always wearing that hat!  I've decided to dedicate today's blog post to the random hunk who looks so good in the red in white hat.

Of course, here he is resting on a pillow:

Here he is upside down:

Here he is on a pillow again:

Upside down with a peek at his red undies:

Look into my eyes...

Upside down, again . . .

I thought I told you to keep looking into my eyes...

Well, I know there's more, but I think seven is a good number.  Maybe next year Santa will invite me to his sexy photo shoot...

Six Sentence Sunday 12/4/2011

This week my six sentences come from my one of my many works-in-progress.  So far this one doesn't have a title.  For some reason when I saved the file the first time, I saved it as "50".  Not sure why I did that.  Anyway, the scene below takes place between two neighbors who are totally attracted to one another, but they are having a little spat over something.  She cusses him out and tells him to get the hell out of her house, but he doesn't listen.  This is a good thing though, because they end up having a nice round of rough sex.

"A few moments later, Marlene was pacing her bedroom floor, wishing she had a damn lock on the door. She hoped Erik would leave, but if he followed after her, there was nothing she could do.  Sure enough, he entered the room not more than two minutes later. He held a small duffel bag in his hands.

“Marlene, I want you to take your panties off and bend over the bed.” He gestured towards her frilly pink covers, like it was perfectly normal to ask your next door neighbor to get half naked.

Can you guess what's in the duffel bag?  Yes, I admit I'm a tease.  When I get this story finished and :fingers crossed: published one day, I'll let you know it was the 'story formally known as 50'.

On another note, thanks to everyone who stopped by my blog last week to read the excerpt of Snowed in with Santa and enter the contest.  I appreciate it!  The winner (Terra) was announced yesterday and she received an e-copy of Snowed in with Santa.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Much love,
