I was nominated for the Liebster Award!

A big thank you to Celeste Jones for nominating me for the Liebster Award! You can check out Celeste's Liebster post here.

Here are the rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.

2. Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.)

3. Answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.

4. Provide 11 random facts about yourself.

5. Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 1000 followers. (Note that you can always ask the blog owner this since not all blogs display a widget that lets the readers know this information!)

6. Create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.

7. List these rules in your post. Once you have written and published it, you then have to:

8. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)

Here are Celeste's questions for me:

1. What is your fantasy vacation? Somewhere on a secluded tropical island with internet access and no one else around. Okay, maybe my family can come, but that's it!
2. Cats or Dogs? Dogs. Sorry, I know writers are supposed to like cats, but I'm afraid I'm not terribly fond of them.
3. What's your favorite breakfast? I love breakfast foods, so the lumberjack special please - bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, pancakes, etc. And coffee. Lots of coffee.
4. What's your guilty pleasure? Crawling into bed with my Kindle and a very full glass of wine. Sometimes chocolate is involved too.
5. What's your favorite thing about blogging? Meeting other likeminded bloggers and writers, and of course meeting readers too.
6. What's your least favorite thing about blogging? Finding the time to actually do it and coming up with new topics to blog about.
7. If you could go back in time to your 18 year old self, what message would you give yourself? Start writing those spanking stories that are floating around in the back of your mind right now! Oh, and don't get that horrible heart tattoo on your back. Your older self is currently cursing you for how much time and money the removal is going to cost.
8. If you had a day to do whatever you wanted, what would you do? Sleep, read, write, swim, and eat Chinese food.
9. What advice do you have for someone who is new to blogging? Watch what other bloggers are doing and emulate those you admire. Don't make every post about your books, but blog about other things as well. Invite likeminded bloggers to guest post on your blog too. Keep at it and you'll eventually gain a following.
10. What is one of your pet peeves? The condition of the bathroom after the kids have finished brushing their teeth.
11. What are some of the challenges of keeping your life as a spanking blogger/writer a secret? Since I'm pretty out and about, I have to decide how much personal information is too much to share. I mean, my mother could read my blog on any given day, as well as any of my real life friends, so I don't usually talk about any personal DD stuff.

11 facts about me:

1. In three weeks, I'm headed to New Orleans for Romantic Times. I can't wait!
2. My least favorite movie genre is romantic comedy.
3. My husband and I go to a lot of concerts together.
4. I write under three names and I keep them all separate, and I'm currently thinking about adding a fourth name to the mix.
5. My first boyfriend in college just happened to be a spanko, but he also happened to be a sexist jerk, so it didn't quite work out.
6. Mini Cadbury eggs are my favorite candy in the whole wide world.
7. My favorite time to write is at 3 or 4 in the morning when the house is quiet and dark and everyone is asleep.
8. I don't watch a lot of TV and usually stick to one or two shows at a time. Right now I'm watching Game of Thrones, and that's it. Before GOT, it was Walking Dead.
9. I love tulip scented Yankee Candles.
10. My prom dresses are still hanging in my closet and I just can't bring myself to get rid of them.
11. I hate talking on the phone.

  1. Thanks for taking the Leibster challenge. It's fun to learn little fact about you...three pen names...I'm intrigued. I didn't know Yankee Candle had tulip scented candles but now I want one.

You have some excellent questions. I'm going to attempt to answer.
    1. No one favorite. Varies depdning on my mood.
    2. Documentaries

    1. Thanks for playing! Yankee Candles first released the tulip scent about 15 years ago, then discontinued it. For a while, I had to buy them on Ebay, but they finally have tulip in stores again. It is the best smell ever! LOL.

  2. These things are so much funl I love getting to know people this way. Celeste tagged me too, and I'm gong to shamelessly steal your idea and just throw it open to self-nominations like you did. I liked your questions too! My answers:

What is your favorite genre in books? romance.
    2. Favorite genre in movies? Comedy.
    3. Would you rather remove a spider or a snake from your living room? Spiders. Although I HAVE actually had to remove a snake from the house before.

    9. Your Internet just went down for two weeks, even on your phone. How do you feel? Right now the internet IS down on my phone. Gotta get that fixed by RT. Internet would be critical because of my job. I'd have to move to Panera.
    10. Apples or oranges? Both. Apples are kind of a staple, but I love oranges.
    11. Name one book you've read over and over again. The Stand by Stephen King. But I haven't read it in years.

    1. Yes, please feel free to shamelessly steal my idea! LOL. I couldn't think of anyone who hasn't been nominated yet. I've read The Stand about five times, but it's been years for me too. I did just recently watch the 6 hour movie of it though, again, for the umpteenth time.

    2. It's my favorite Stephen King book, although I don't read him anymore.
