F is for "Furbaby" #SpankA2Z

Welcome day 6 of the Spanking A-Z Challenge!

June 6th - F is for "Furbaby"

Okay, so here's my little dog, Missy. She's twelve years old and she's a miniature Jack Russell. She was itty bitty when we got her - only 2 lbs, and now full grown she's still only about 9 or 10 lbs. I tried scanning one of her puppy pictures but I'm having technical difficulties, but she's still pretty adorable. She likes to sleep all day in the recliner in the living room, beg for treats, and snuggle under blankets.

Right now Missy is our only furbaby. I keep asking my husband for a puppy though, because I think Missy needs a friend AND I'm experiencing a little no-more-baby sadness now that all of my kids are in school. Just in case my husband is reading my blog today, I would like to remind him that my birthday is coming up in a month and puppies make great birthday presents!

What kind of furbabies do you have?

  1. She is so cute!! I have three dogs--a Shiba/German Shepherd mix and two long haired chihuahuas. I love my little fur babies. And, YES, you need to work on the hubby getting you a puppy. The older dogs love having a new baby and I swear it makes them younger for a while.

    1. I bet your big dog is super protective of the little ones! We used to have a large dog and she was very protective of Missy. It was cute.

  2. I don't know...a 12 year old dog may not appreciate a puppy. The puppy will want to play all the time.

    1. You might be right. Though in my new puppy fantasy, my older dog will become her mommy and we'll be one big happy family, LOL. My neighbors brought their puppy over a few weeks ago and Missy had a blast playing with her, but it was only for an hour.

  3. I know about Furbabies:) I have 7. I have a 10 year old male Boston Terrier named Billy Fred; then there's a Dachshund/Basset Hound mix, his name is Superdawg (he has his own FB acct); I have a female Jack Russel mix named Polly; a 100 lbs, 1 year old, male German Shepherd named Sarge; then there's two female, 6 mo. old heelers, one red (Miss Kitty) the other blue (Roper) but the most special one is Lucy. MY 5 year miniature Chihuahua. I got her for mother's day and she still is my most favorite mother's day gift to date:) This is why my hubby and I own land.LOL! I love all my little babies very much:)

  4. Missy is a cute one. All my fur babies come in cat form these days. Very cuddly and pretty much maintenance free.

    1. I had a bad experience with a cat who didn't like me (and I swear he intentionally peed on my clothes and ripped holes in them on purpose!), so I'm hesitant to get a cat again, though I do like how they are mostly maintenance free.

  5. Maybe we will get a dog very soon, but it will be a helping dog for my daughter. I would like to have a dog very much, but it's just not possible right now. And somehow Sue a helping dog just like a guide dog for the blind, it's not the same as a dog just to horse around with.

So we will just wait for a while what happens...

  6. So cute! We have one furbaby who I think is at least part Jack Russell (but not miniature). If you get a birthday present that is wriggling, open it first!

  7. You're right. Puppies do make awesome birthday presents. Sadly, I've got one of those husbands who doesn't like dogs or cats. So, I've told him when he dies, I'm getting both. I already know what I want. I'm going to get a basset hound named Columbo, and a fat hairless cat named Man Boobs. Right now, my only 'furbaby' is my greenwing macaw, Solly.
